The team at Norbreck Farm worked very hard in the weeks before Open Farm Sunday to prepare the Farm visit experience for the general public (our customers and consumers).
We had help from Tesco and Arla UK (our milk processor) with the supply of very good information to inform consumers on the daily life on a dairy farm.We welcomed over 300 people on one of the warmest days of 2018 and the feedback from visitors was very positive.
The FREE samples of Cravendale milk, cheese and Skyr yoghurt went down a treat along with beers from our local brewery ‘Farm Yard Ales’.The team were praised for the obvious high welfare standards and compassion for animals in every aspect of the day to day management of the Norbreck Dairy herd.
Thanks also goes to many of our suppliers who supported the event, Carrs Billington feeds with Duncan Rose explaining about the diet of a dairy cow, For Farmers explained about calf health and nutrition and Malpas Tractors provided a large New Holland tractor for the kids to see and take photographs. Plus the many local farmers who helped out and supported our team on the day
